Coordinated School Health Committee

The Coordinated School Health Committee (CSHC), formerly the Wellness Team, provides oversight of the District's   Wellness Policy and provides direction and program recommendations based on the Wellness Policy and guidance from the Coordinated School Health Model (CSHM). The CSHC meets bi-annually to work on a variety of programs. Currently, the CSHC is working on:

  • Implementing the Coordinated School Health Model
  • Drafting tools and processes for assessing School Wellness Policy site implementation

The CSHC uses the CSHM to guide its processes. Each of the eight components of the CSHM benefits from direct oversight by a component leader. Currently, the components leaders are:

  • Nutrition Services: Erika Reavis, Food Service Director, Chartwells
  • Physical Education: TBD
  • Health Education: Rusty Hopewell, District Wellness Coordinator
  • Health Services: Diana Ayllon, District Nurse
  • Counseling and Support Services: Fallyn Smith, Elementary School Counselor
  • Healthy School Environment: TBD
  • Healthy Promotion for Staff: Rusty Hopewell, District Wellness Coordinator
  • Family/Community Involvement: TBD (a parent, hopefully)

The CSHC is open to all participation. If interested in joining the committee, please contact Rusty Hopewell.
