Employment Opportunities

Employment with the district is in one of the following categories:

Certificated
 

Certificated positions, which include teachers, library media teachers, psychologists, counselors, speech-language pathologists, and substitute teachers, require a valid teaching credential as well as a bachelors degree.  Always indicate on the application  the position for which you are applying.

To apply for open teaching positions,
please download and print a Certificated Application when applying for these positions. Please submit the completed application with a letter of intent, your resume, three letters of reference, and a copy of your credential(s) and CBEST. When applying for an open school psychologist position, please include, with the above, an example of a psychological evaluation you have completed for a student with the student's name purged. Substitute Teaching

To be a part of the District on-call substitute teacher pool, the Substitute Teacher, when called, will substitute teach for the absent teacher, following an established lesson plan and daily schedule. Members of the Substitute Teacher Pool may also substitute for other positions with absences, at the substitute teacher rate. Requirements:  Valid CA teaching credential or Substitute Permit – District will help applicant file for substitute teaching permit but applicant for this must have passed CBEST and have the original results, have sealed college transcripts showing their BA or BS and will need to pay for state application and state fingerprinting. Fingerprinting for District employment is District-paid. All applicants must have proof of TB clearance (good for four years) and be cleared to work in the US. Credential candidates welcome.  Rates:  $125/day, pro-rated for less; $140/day long-term substitute for teacher on extended leave of absence (20 days or more continuous).

.  Applicants should submit, with the certificated application, a resume and a copy of their credential(s) or permit. Be sure to indicate at the top of the application that you are applying for a substitute teaching position and include your email address so that you can easily be contacted.  Completed application materials may be faxed c/o Human Resources to 650-259-3820, or dropped off or mailed to Burlingame School District, 1825 Trousdale Drive, Burlingame, CA 94010.  Questions regarding openings may be addressed to Victoria Ouye at vouye@bsd.k12.ca.us.  Completion of an application is not a guarantee of hire.

Administrative

Administrative positions are management positions usually requiring a credential beyond the teaching credential
, as well as additional graduate work relevant to the position for which the applicant is applying.  Office support staff are not Administrative positions (see Classified, below).

To apply for an open administrative position,
please download and print an Administrative Application. Please submit the completed application with a letter of intent, your resume, five letters of reference, and a copy of your credential(s). Completed application materials may be faxed c/o Human Resources to 650-259-3820, or dropped off or mailed to Burlingame School District, 1825 Trousdale Drive, Burlingame, CA 94010.  Questions regarding openings may be addressed to Victoria Ouye at vouye@bsd.k12.ca.us.

Classified

The classified service includes those positions providing support to the educational process and includes paraprofessionals, operations and maintenance staff, office staff (secretaries, administrative assistants, accounting technicians, payroll technicians) and IT staff.  Always indicate on the application  the position for which you are applying.

To apply for an open Classified position, please download and print a Classified Application.  Please submit the completed application with a copy of your resume and, for open office positions (see list above), at least two letters of reference.  Most classified positions require passage of an exam relevant to the position. Instructional Aides must be "No Child Left Behind" compliant and must have proof of having completed high school (or GED) and must also either have proof of completion of 48 semester units of college work, passage of CBEST, or must pass the District Instructional Aide exam.  To apply for an open Confidential position, please download and print the  Classified Application and submit it with your cover letter, resume, and at least two letters of reference.  To apply for a Substitute Classified position, please download and complete the Classified Application, indicating that you are applying for a substitute position in the space provided.
